Find lapsed customers and draft personal reinstatement emails

In xAI's Team Bots post, the insurer Harper built a bot to find customers with lapsed policies and help them reinstate coverage. Harper's CEO says it saved its customers over $120,000 from hundreds of policies. That's Harper's own claim and the only source.

The problem

Checking each lapsed customer across several systems and writing personal emails takes hours.

How the bot does it

From xAI:

  • Harper, an insurance company serving small businesses, built a Team Bot to find customers with lapsed policies and help them reinstate their coverage.
  • Harper's CEO says the team had been checking every customer across three platforms by hand, then built the bot in 24 hours, "saving our customers over $120,000 from hundreds of policies." That's Harper's own claim, and the post is the only source.
  • Team Bots need a team plan.

Setup steps

  1. 1Connect the systems that hold policy status and balances.
  2. 2Define what counts as lapsed.
  3. 3Ask for a list with a personal draft for each customer.
  4. 4Tell it: Draft, I send. Change no accounts.

Example prompt

Find customers whose [policies or plans] lapsed in the last [period]. Check their balance details in [systems] and draft a personal reinstatement email for each. Draft, I send. Stop and ask me before paying or changing any account.

The result

A list of lapsed customers with draft emails for you to send. Harper's result is its own claim.

Turn support tickets into product-feedback themes

xAI's support post describes a bot that reads product feedback in support tickets each day and turns it into clear themes for engineering.

Each day, read yesterday's support tickets, pull out product feedback, and group it into themes with ticket counts and two example quotes each. Send it to me. Contact no customers. Change nothing.

Cut supply and software costs with a procurement bot

xAI's procurement post describes Haggle Bot, which shops a recurring supply order across several stores, builds a quantity sheet you can edit, tracks down who owns each tool, and drafts negotiations for your approval. Haggle Bot is an official template in the marketplace.

Shop this week's supply order across [stores]. If you can't find the same item for less, suggest an equivalent from another brand. Put the comparisons in a sheet for me to review. Stop and ask me before paying or placing any order. Any message to a vendor: Draft, I send.

A stand-in for meetings you can't make

xAI lists a meeting stand-in among jobs bots are doing today: it joins a meeting you can't make, tells the room it's there for you, takes detailed notes, and sends you a summary.

Join [meeting] for me, tell the room you're there on my behalf and taking notes, and send me a summary with decisions and action items afterward. Don't agree to anything or speak for me beyond that. Draft, I send for any follow-up.
