Returns and warranty claims, prepared for your OK

Users report bots that dig up receipts, fill warranty claims from a serial photo and invoice, and track return windows. You approve before anything is submitted.

Last verified: Oct 17, 2026

The problem

A broken item or a return means finding the receipt, reading the terms, and filling out forms.

How the bot does it

Users report:

  • @RealMattMalecki gave his bot a photo of the serial number and the invoice PDF and says it took care of the rest of the claim.
  • @ledjon had his bot read his emails and shopping history to track down a warranty claim.
  • @HighStakesOp uses it to email support for a return label and to find replacement parts (single source).

Setup steps

  1. 1Share a photo of the serial number and the receipt, or let it search your email.
  2. 2Ask it to check the warranty or return terms.
  3. 3Have it fill in the claim or draft the return email: Draft, I send.
  4. 4Tell it: Stop and ask me before paying any fee or ordering a part.

Example prompt

My [product] has [problem]. Find the receipt and order number in my email, check the warranty or return terms, and fill in the claim or return request. Show me everything before submitting. Don't pay any fee. Stop and ask me if anything is unclear.

The result

One summary of your proof of purchase, a filled claim or draft email to review, and part options to compare. Whether a claim is approved is up to the company.

Results are the user's own claim. We haven't checked them.

Read contracts, leases, and bills before you sign or pay

Elon Musk and users say Grok Bot is useful for reading contracts, leases, and bills in plain English. It's not legal advice; have a lawyer review anything important.

Read the attached [contract/lease/bill]. Explain it in plain English, list every fee, deadline, and renewal term with the page, and flag anything unusual. List questions for a lawyer. This isn't legal advice. Change nothing. Stop and ask me before sending, signing, or paying anything.

Double-check your taxes, or your CPA's work

Elon Musk says Grok Bot can help with taxes. Two users say it reviewed their returns and found mistakes. Not tax advice; a human signs and files.

Please review my [year] tax return and the documents in [folder]. List anything that looks missing or wrong, with the document and line for each one and how sure you are. Write it as a list of questions for my CPA. Don't file, sign, submit, or contact anyone.

Meal plan to grocery cart (with a pantry check)

Users report Grok Bot turning recipes into a grocery cart after a pantry check, so they only approve the order. Note: Amazon is blocking Grok Bot.

Plan 5 dinners for 4 people this week, under $[budget], no [allergy]. Ask me what's already in the pantry first. Then build a cart at [store] and show me the list, the total, and the delivery window. Don't place the order or pay. I'll review it and check out myself.
